Toward Independence, Inc. is a nonprofit agency that serves over 160 individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and more in the southwest region of Ohio. The Inner I Gallery, located in Xenia, Ohio and sponsored by Toward Independence, Inc., displays, promotes, and sells the artwork of individuals with developmental disabilities. In addition, the Inner I Gallery co-hosts Art & Soul Exhibit, a distinguished, recognized regional annual art exhibit for artists with disabilities.
